A Love That Never Dies

Asked the bold boy,
I stand on land,
I see the sea and
Spy the skies—
What do they want from me?

The old man answered,
The land we walk—
All the deaths we die.
The sea we swim—
All the tears we cry.
The skies we fly—
All the reasons why.

Said the bold boy,
I walked the land and
I swam the sea,
But the skies—
That’s where the faraway lies.

Said the old man,
I can’t stand on land,
I swelled the sea,
Yet the skies—
Hold my hopes and highs.

Said the bold boy,
You are the land,
You are the sea,
And from your skies—
A love that never dies.
