Rock-a-bye Blues

Carry me home,
Inside your heart,
Sing I love you,
Like a lullaby lie,
Before you leave me be,
Outside on my own,
Every day falling away…

A little breeze—
Swept me off with a whisper.
A little star—
Set me behind the moon.
A little tear—
Met me on a path of clouds.

And then the rain.
And then the dark.
And then the storm.

Rock-a-bye baby,
My little lullaby lie,
These rock-a-bye blues,
My wake-up, break down and cry.

A lover boy’s life, dark and stormy.
Night, from cradle to grave.
Wind, like a rock-a-bye tree.
Rain, down will come love.
Daybreak, nothing but a broken man.

A little breeze—
Swept me off with a whisper.
A little star—
Set me behind the moon.
A little tear—
Met me on a path of clouds.

And then the rain.
And then the dark.
And then the storm.

Rock-a-bye baby,
My little lullaby lie,
These rock-a-bye blues,
My break up, break down and cry…
My shake-up, break down and cry…
My wake-up, break down and cry.
